Trump Campaigns for Mike Rogers in Port Huron
President Trump rallied in Port Huron in support of Rogers, attacking El-Sayed's Medicare for All proposal and criticizing the Democratic candidate's positions on health care.
Trump praised Rogers' military and law enforcement service, as well as his record representing Michigan in Congress.
El-Sayed responded to Trump's personal attacks during a rally Sunday night in Grand Rapids, where he campaigned alongside Vermont U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders. El-Sayed addressed Trump's use of a name he viewed as an attempt to target his background and criticized the president over financial ties involving his son-in-law.
Rogers also appeared Sunday on NBC's Meet the Press, repeating claims that El-Sayed has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Rogers said his criticism concerned what he described as El-Sayed's political agenda, rather than Islam or how he practices his faith.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer also appeared on Meet the Press, criticizing Republicans for what she characterized as a lack of attention to affordability and policies affecting everyday residents. Whitmer pointed to tariffs and the conflict with Iran as issues she believes are tied to the Trump administration and are not addressing voters' primary concerns.

Eaton County Sheriff Warns of AI-Assisted Phone Scam
Eaton County Sheriff Tom Reich is warning residents about a phone scam in which criminals allegedly use artificial intelligence-generated images of law enforcement officers to pressure victims into sending money.
In a Facebook post, Reich described scammers who call people with fabricated claims involving missed jury duty, emergency bail or other supposed legal emergencies.
In some cases, the callers reportedly pair their threats with images showing an officer next to a Bitcoin ATM, creating the false impression that the officer is directing the victim to deposit money into a cryptocurrency machine.
Residents should be cautious of unsolicited calls demanding immediate payment, particularly when callers request cryptocurrency. Anyone receiving a suspicious call should independently contact the relevant law enforcement agency using an official phone number rather than following instructions provided by the caller.
The warning serves as a reminder that scammers may use increasingly sophisticated technology and convincing images to make fraudulent demands appear legitimate.
